the way this works is that Lumines the psp game has a exploit in side it that allows you to unlock the psp. So get lumines, this tutorial provides simplified directions so you can easily do it.

(My firmware is 2.81) A few points that are differnet when i atempted this: First in my removable drive folder I dont have picture and videos folders there in the PSP folder when your video shows that they are out side the folder. Anyway, i ignored this and deleted the psp folder and replaced it with the MHPSP zip. I then inserted lumines. I got it of ebay advertised as a downgrader version. I looked on the umd and it is differenet from yours U say use ULUS1002 on yur video. Mine is a ULUS10002. I don't know if u forgot to put a zero in there or if the ebay seller ripped me off. After all this i start lumines, press x etc but instead of the screen flashing red for a second the blue it just stays red for a minute and then goes black and the power turns off? I have a full battery and the machine is plugged in the wall. Pls tell me wha tim doing wrong.

if you dont want to buy a game you'll have to make a pandora battery, which requires you to have another psp with custom firmware installed instead of a game.

I have the ULUS10002 copy of lumines and have downloaded the mhPSP.rar file posted above. After following the instuctions above i get a " Save data is courpted" after starting the Lumines game normally. Can I get another copy of mhPSP from somewhere else or am i doing something wrong. PLEASE HELP!

Download the file and follow the directions. Worked for me, No problem! You dont need the Lumines disk, just 1 battery. WARNING After Hard Modding the pandora battery you cannot use it effectively. Another standard battery is required for normal operaton! However you can just use the power supply until another battery is obtained.
