How to install MAME emulator on PSP custom firmware

I downloaded MAME to my psp & it works with the 2 demos you put in (thanks!) but when I went to the website to download more ROMS it indicates "Note: Neo Geo MAME games require that you have the Neo Geo bios ROM." ??? so next to it I downloaded the Neo Geo bios ROM I tried putting it here & there to make the roms work but it didn't ??? Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong? or where should I be putting this NEGEO BIOS winrar zip ?? let me know please a.s.a.p. (& BTW thanks and keep up the good work & keep the vids. coming!)

hi there i managed to get mame onto my PSP BUT! it states the game could be started(80020148) is that because of firmware probs?

When I place my own ROMS it doesn't let me play them it gets me to the loading page but then it says: " Unable to open ROM Error reading ROMS Unable to Initialize Machine Emulation" What do I do?

I have a custom firmware and mame emulator installed but i can't add addtional MAME games. I have stored the zipped game in the ROM but when i load up the device there is no new listing.

So everyone knows that don't know! lol. Games that don't work... None of the Mortal Kombat Games Work None of the Killer Instinct Games Work The Simpsons Arcade Does not work. X-men Arcade Does Not Work. The better graphic games do not work yet. I've tryed lots of them. They all load up and then crash the psp. I noticed alot of the 80's games work for now.

Only roms that work, are the 2 that already come with the program..Anyone know how we can put other ones on? i know this emu is new and cant run all roms yet, so do we have to just wait for an upgrade or does someone know how to by pass all this?

My psp folder has no games folder in it.How do you get it on there?

Hi there! First of all, thanks for spending the time on a brave attempt at getting MAME on PSP. Like someone said earlier in this thread, it does seem to play some earlier arcade roms, but nothing from the latter period. I'm being particularly selfish, I suppose. I thought I now had the chance to play Esp.Ra.De, DonPachi etc on a handheld. Keep working on it, ecerything seems to be fine, with the exception of what I've mentioned and some sound issues.

First let me say THANK YOU for doing this. YOU ARE APPRECIATED. Second, can I have two seperate MAME programs on my PSP, I notice some games still use the older version and some games us the newer one (the version you provide (unselfishly) on your site. I wanted Jungle Hunt and it is available on the older verson MAME vO.123. If I download this version, can I also use the newer version. Cause I have a GBA emulator that is on the PSP, and wondered if I can use more than one MAME emulator. THANKS Mike!!

how if im using a firmware 3.90 m33-3? Do i need to downgarde it first to 3.71 m33-2 to install the MAME emulator? Or is it compatible also the MAME emulatior to the 3.90 m33-3?

in downgrade psp mame will not work?

if i put any roms it doesent show on the emulator, only the two which are already in there, i even copy and pasted the same game which is in there and still doesent work

hi at first thank you for da tutorial butte thing is it loads but after that nothing happens it keeps loading for a really long time but it doest even go to where the roms are

i have a custom Firmware is 4.01 M33-2..the MAME emulator does work but when i start it up... it doesn't load up.....any suggestions.

is there any other MAME emulators that could play Phozon or Smash TV?if there is tell me, cuase i have gotten MAME4ALL to work but it wont play certain games like those 2 i mentioned before.ive put at least 30 roms on MAME and it only plays at least 9 or 10.
